Hi all I`ve a 2015 Fireblade and have bought an Oxford QR tank bag, the issue is that the tank ring (Type 3) doesn`t fit. Retailer "Bikermart" have been really helpful and exchanged it for the type 5 (Yamaha) as Oxford stated this would fit, but the hole centres are not perfect, (A little bit of work with a needle file would sort that), but the bolts provided with the kit are the wrong diameter, and one short (ie 5 in the tank ring, but only 4 replacements in the kit)! Has anyone successfully fitted one of these to the latest Blade? I`ve enclosed some pics showing the tank ring laid onto the bike, so you can see the rear hole centres now quite right, and also the bolts from the bike, alongside the ones provided in the Oxford kit. Interesting as I am considering one of these, hope you get it sorted, the Oxford ones are probably a bit new yet and need a shakedown.
Just heard back from Oxford. They don`t make a definitive kit for the 2014 onward Fireblade, but they are going to provide me with a screw kit, and I will then file some of the holes in the OL284 (Type 5) to make it fit the tank, doesn`t need much work. Will post again once job completed, just awaiting the screw kit from Oxford
fitted on the weekend. Very little filing required to make the hole centres line up. However Oxford sent me the wrong screws. They sent M5s, where M4s are used in the tank. I sourced my own (Stainless steel) from e bay, you need 2 short screws (16mm) and 3 long screws (30mm). links below. When fitted it looks factory quality, and bag fits great, so worth the hassle to slightly adapt the ring. Hi jeff I've got the givi tank lock looks very simular to the one you have .luckily I didn't have to modify it it fit perfectly. Easy to fit and the tank bag clips on and off
