I need to take my front and rear wheels off to replace the tyres, however I only have standard universal stands. The rears fine but the front is a bit dodgy without a headstock stand, can anyone help?

I use an ABBA stand, to take the front of i use a an old rucksack with some weights in it to balance the bike so that i can take both wheels of at once.

I have a universal front and lining it up is a bit dodgy as you have to move each side in and out and i only feel safe lifting the front if somebody is holding the bars but once the front is lifted and the weight of the bike locks the forks into the fittings the bike is solid.
