I have a nice set of PVM wheels that I need to change from black to orange. I have always had my wheels resprayed in the past, however the place that used to do the work has now gone so I thought to look into getting them powder coated. It seems to be a cheaper option but there are some horror story's I have been told where it can damage the metal and even cause cracks, so not sure now if I want them sprayed or coated.
Has anyone got some feedback on this and would any of you be able to recommend either a good paint sprayer or powder coater in the Kent area.

I've been thinking king the same. I think k I'm going to paint due to not trusting a powder coater not to coat machined surfaces for bearings etc.

Plus I have the gear to paint myself so will only cos me materials.

Never had an issue with powder coating mate, like anywhere it depends on where you go! There's always gonna be horror storeys for either method!

Had a set powdercoated recently, they covered the machined areas for bolts/bearings/etc. If they have been doing it for some time and have done motorcycle wheels before/specialist equipment then there is nothing to worry about :)

I had mine powder coated and no worries at all, but you will need to remove the wheel bearings and replace them, as the heat in the powder coating oven will disperse all the grease from the bearings.
