hi all, I am removing the pair pump thing. Not sure what it stands for but at the weekend I posted about turning my bike into a track bike and removing the whole air intake tubes.
After some research I have decided to go all out and remove the pair. I have got it off now just waiting for my blank caps to turn up. But I have a hose left, it come out of the bottom of the left hand air intake and feeds all the hoses for the air ducts. What do I need to do with this? I cannot find any mention of it anywhere .
Also after doing all this do I need to get a dynojet auto tune or just my pc5?
    Many thanks j

You can junk the lot if those tubes.

There is 1 that goes intowards the engine. You need to block this 1. All I did is fold it all up neatly (which blocked it off) and tie rap it to the bike somewhere. Some folk trace the tube back to where it attaches to the engine and replace the bleed screw with a standard screw to block it off.

You don't need a PCV or anything just for that. If you have changed the exhaust and the airfilter then I would go ahead and get something sorted for the fueling.

I have a pcv already. But wasn't away of this pair stuff and wondered why it run weird. So hopefully all these little mods will sort that! I will make that tube neat and just fit my blank plates when they come cheers

The pair system sometimes called Pulsed AIR or secondary air system is an emissions control device that allows air to be drawn via the airfilter box and dumps it directly into the exhaust to allow any unburnt fuel to ignite inside the exhaust, this mostly happens when the engine is running with a closed throttle on engines overrun which often means aftermarket exhausts pop and bang as the excess fuel is ignited in the exhaust pipes.

The pair system has absolutely no effect on engine running or performance as the excess fuel is burnt off inside the exhaust pipe rather than inside the engine!

Although it can fool a dyno runs fuelling probe as the pair system dumping air into the exhaust throws off the true readings the engine is creating, so needs to be temporally blocked to allow true readings to be taken.

Shiny got it spot on buddy, if/when you get it dynod they would temporarily block it of while mapping it. By taking it off all you gain is a little weight saving and the ability to run an auto tune for your PC5 (or bazzaz z-afm with the bazzaz module)
