Got my PCV today for rr8, installed to bike fine and loaded maps and software from cd to my laptop.
Cant get any file details when I click on the files to open them, just get a blank screen or a spread sheet.
I have map files M16-002-000 thru to 017 and M16-002-501 thru to 515.
What I need is the map for full arrow 'Trophyrace system' with race K&N filter.
IT's got to be one of the above, anyone know which or how to find out what the codes mean.
    cheers .......very frustrating.

Are the files opening in the PCV software? If not reinstall it so your file associations are correct, or open the PCV software then select open map file. (I assume you have unzipped the maps) If you open the maps they show the descriptions, check that descriptions are selected or you won't see them, if you go to powercommander.com you can make a note of the map file name to save time loading each one.

Thanks Arthur. I am useless with computers:rolleyes:Anyway have reinstalled and could read the file types and found the right one, opened it so it popped up in the box on the left of the power commander control centre screen, plugged into the bike and pressed send map. strangely no figure for percentage change of fuelling showed on the read outs:confused:RPM reading was 0 so does that make everything 0?

Was the bike running at the time?

The pcv software should tell you in the lower left corner of the software if a device is connected ok, if it is clicking the send map should send the map to the device, you can test if it uploaded to the pcv device correctly by closing the map or the full software application and reopening it then once open click on the get map button and the map from the device should be shown in the software with the notes in the lower middle panel.

Make sure you fully pressing the USB plug into the PCV, they are hard to seat fully when new. Also it takes a few seconds for the PC to see the device for the first time as the drivers load, if still no luck use another port on the PC but wait for it to see the device before loading the software.

The computer was recognising the device.
No the bike wasn't running at the time, still in bits.......cant fire it up in the workshop as the exhaust blast sends all the stuff on the shelves flying.
I have just rebuilt, Had enough now so will re check tommorow. I turned the key and everything lit up and primed so thats a good sign I suppose.
Its a right ball ache coz I cant get wifi in the workshop....my cottage walls are 3 foot thick stone. So have to cme back in to ask for help.
So does the bike have to be running or just the igi on.
Anyway many thanks for the help.
The bastard wont beat me........just have to keep trying and be patient.

The rpm (revolutions per minute) will read 0 when the bikes not running!

Also when you upload the map in order to see what the fuelling changes are you will need to choose "fuel tables" in the top left part of the window this should now show lots of different numbers in the excel like cells in the centre of the program!

    Hope that helps.
