The wife makes "stuff" at home and has made some casts that she has painted in iridescent paint. The thing is that naturally this paint changes according to the amount and angle of light, and it is proving somewhat difficult for her to get a shot that shows the paint in anything approaching it's natural state. Would any of you have any suggestions about how she should go about getting some decent photos?

Flat, even lighting over as much of the surface as possible is my guess. A bright but overcast day is favourite (Brides hate it but their photographers love it). Some white cards just out of shot to reflect light back onto any shadowed overhangs. A lot easier than half a dozen studio lights, but subject to timing.
