Sorry for this request. But I'm planning to get my belly pan and exhaust infill panel painted white to match my fairings. Is there a good photoshopper who could be kind enough to show me what it'd look like please? If so let me know and I can post a pic (on train at the moment but will do when home!) Thank you for your time if you can! *now with photo for any kind prospective photoshoppers*
In my humble opinion, i reckon id leave it, or even look at doing it in the same blue as the top... Maybe gold wheel too... Its nice tho !
Why don't you vinyl wrap them??? :That way if you change your mind you can just remove the wrap and you're back to the start again.
You got me thinking now....I like tgst white belly pan a lot. Does the metallic white vinyl match well, if so what product is that please? Also, what about going full Jonny rea 2012 wsb castrol green belly?
Only my opinion, but if it were my money, I'd be painting the wheels gold and painting the rear hugger blue. Anything else suggests to a potential buyer (should you decide to sell) that it's had to be painted for a reason. Again, just my opinion.
I'm just about to wrap my entire fairings in black carbon fibre vinyl. I got the wrap for about 70 quid after checking out a few samples. The trade marked stuff (3m Di-Noc) is expensive and when I married up the cheaper samples I couldn't tell the difference. There may be a shorter life for the cheeper stuff but thats the beauty of wrapping, I'll just have a different design next year if it's starting to look tatty. The wrap I brought was 2 meters by 5 meters (roll) but you'll need nowhere near as much. You would also need a heat gun (I'm using a hair dryer), some IPA aka isopropylalcohol and a tin of 3M primer. The IPA for cleaning the fairing is about 7 quid a litre on fleabay and i think the primer for better adhesion around the edges was about 20 quid. Also some clean rags, cheap paintbrush's and a couple of craft/hobby knives. After that some quiet time, patience and youtube! I've got all the kit together now, just gotta get my bike back from the garage once the engines been put back together. The belly pan looks like quite a simple shape so should be fairly straight forward.......All in I'm looking at around £100 quid for a new look. The pro's quoted me £600. I figured I'll just have a go. I think the vinyl would cost you alot less.
Sorry missed this thread since posting earlier :- The wrap wasn't 3m, but I can't remember who thou !!? It cost me £50 + £5 for the stickers to do belly pan and the yoshi infill panel. I went for the wrap coz if people buying the bike didn't like it they can pull the wrap off, also there won't b any stone chips unlike my fairings !! Wish I'd have got him to clear wrap them.
