Hi all I;m new to the forum.

I am looking for a 2004/2005 Model CBR1000RR. One of the main reasons why I want an older model is because of the physical size of the bike. Its bigger than most other bikes in its class.

Can someone tell me whether the 2006 model is exactly the same in terms of size? I l know the bike is lighter but it looks identical in terms of styling and size.

    Thanks in advance

frame is the same engine is the same except case colour. tail fairings the same . radiator is bigger on the 04-05 and that's why fairings are a little slimmer on the 06/07 but bikes are the same size

They are the same size they just made something like 200 changes on the 6/7, suspension, bigger rear sprocket etc
They also moved the ecu and other bits too. Arthur will be able to list most of the 200 changes

I think you,ll find the com ratio altered along with a load more engine mods but all n all the bike is the same size.

a bit like what we have now with the 08-11 / 12-13 but they just havent changed as much stuff

Thanks for all the info guys. I had a ZX10R before 2004. I compared it with my mates 2004 CBR and his was a bigger bike. Longer but not as wide.
Yes I am a big lad.... so will go for 2004 to 2007 CBR. Cant wait.

I'm 6'4 and maybe a gram or 2 over weight and my RR5 works well for me so you should get on fine

I'm a shade over 6ft 2 and had the RR7 which felt really good and then went onto RR9 and can't say I noticed a huge difference other than the weight had gone from the top and felt more nimble to lean ;)
