My rr4 currently has a seat cowl fitted to it (it was like that when I bought it) and I would like to fit a pillion seat. For strapping luggage to not to actually carry a pillion. Will a cbr600 pillion seat fit an 04 cbr1000rr. I’ve looked at a few on eBay and they look similar but as we all know similar often isn’t good enough. Thanks.
So I went ahead and bought a cbr600 seat from eBay. The reason for using a cbr600 and not a cbr1000 seat was cost, there were quite a few 600 seats for a lot less than a 1000 seat. The parcel arrived this morning and with a certain amount of trepidation I attempted to fit the 600 seat and to my joy and amazement it clicked right into place. Not sure if it’s as perfect a fit as an original 1000 seat but it’ll do. Now I don’t have to worry about scratching my seat cowl when I’m carrying luggage. And I can buy beer with the money I saved!
I wonder if the 600 rider seat will fit the 1000 also I want a spare seat I can recover in grippy rubber foam for the track…
I guess it would depend upon the year of the bike. And whether or not 600 rider seat is any cheaper than a 1000 seat. eBay has a fair number of both 600 and 1000 seats .
