Well thats them fitted, just in time for a summer shower! Yes thats hail, which apparently is not too good for scrubbing in shiny new hoops.

Getting Power 3 fitted tomorrow, since the warmer weather you can actually see my current BT16s wear down.

hopefully they last longer than 4000miles!

I'm not expecting to get more than 4K outa my PR3's so being as the Power 3's are more Track orientated I'd doubt they'd outlast the PR3's on the road.

    Initial impressions!
    0 miles.
Im shorter in the leg than I used to be. I can no longer get both feet flat on the ground due to the 55 profile. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference even though I knew that 5% of the width lifts the back end by about 19mm. It does feel tall tho!
Also there is not a lot of clearance between tyre and hugger so ill need to keep an eye on it. It looks closer in the photo but is around 10mm.
Scrubbing in tomorrow hopefully! Happy days!

So I've been told phantom. If there a patch on the pure I'll be happy enough. I think i got about 4k out of the pure and grippy enough for me.
Unsure about the 55 profile tho but if you don't try it you don't know, right?

Keep us informed as I am going for the same choice. Just need a rear
Atm the front pure still has a bit of life.

If they are like the pures they will be super slidy.
Closest I have ever come to a highside and that was
With 40 miles clocked up on them.

    Right then.
    Miles 190

Went on a brisk run up to Oban today. Roads were a mixture of dry, wet and in between. Had no issues, no slides, no moments and grip was good considering the temp was between 5 and 10 all day. All in all very confidence inspiring considering its a first run on shiny new tyres.
One thing I did like was that despite pushing on some twisty roads I still have some unused tyre on each side. Shows me how much I've got in hand.
Similar run on 50 profiles had me to the edge on each side so must be the difference on profile.
Turn is was quicker but hard to say if this was the 55 profile at work or the fact that new tyres just feel so much better anyway.
Concerned that you can see a line where the compounds change and it may be that this could cause a step during wear but I'll keep an eye on this.
Early days as I tend to take time to trust a new tyre and only get really comfortable when its time to change them. Lol
    But all good so far.

can see the change in rubber on mine too but no wear issues.
do they drop in as fast as the pure, I like the falling into corners the pures do.

They do drop in quicker than the pures I just took off but not sure if this is the tyre, the higher profile or the fact that there new. They seem to drop in then are quite stable on line thru the corner. I'll have fun finding the edge tho cause I've miles to go. :)

Are they billed as lightweight like the pures ? If so do you happen to know the weights ?

I cant find any info on weight.just that they last longer than the previous 2ct.
michelin hasnt even added them to their website yet unless they are trying
to clear their power pure stock first.

    found this
Q The Power Pure's claim to fame was their lightness. Are the Power 3s lighter, heavier, or the same weight as the Power Pures?

A The light technology in the Power Pure was derived from racing tech and Michelin has decided to retain that for dedicated racing tires rather than for street applications. The Power 3 that replaces the Pure does not have the light tire technology and will be a heavier tire, but has a newly refined dual-compound construction that still provides softer shoulders for cornering, but increases tire stability.
