    Purchased a new shoei helmet with the pinlock lens. My questions is;
    Do you have to use the lens, or is it just for damp cold weather ?
    Thanks

    Makes a difference with normal riding also, stops any steaming up.
    If you don't use it and want to sell let me know ;)

    I always fit it as soon as I get the visor purely because the visor should be perfectly clean.

    Ive had one in the box since i got mine (years) and never bothered with it. I don't commute so I suppose if its cold or wet enough to need it, I don't ride my bike anyways.

    I only ride in the sunshine too but with it fitted you can leave your visor down at lights etc without steaming up. I wouldn't ride without one now but just messed mine up switching it from my clear -tinted visor :(

    They work great,keeping mine until I get my new transitions visor so don't have to mess about swapping them.

    I would always use the pin lock insert and have done for years, used to use fog city inserts
    before pin locks. I even use them on my dark tint visor, stops misting in both hot and cold weather.

    One downside is that the pin locks are visor specific and shoei nxr are different to the X spirit

    I run with a pin lock and have to say they're great. Being a speccy 4 eyes it's no fun steaming when its damp then cracking the visor only to get rain in onto your glasses! But the pin lock solves that completely.

    I do try to only ride on dry days but at this time of year and being in the north west the weathers always unpredictable.

    It does say not to run the pin lock at night though as you get a weird double vision glare thing going on when there's on coming traffic.

    I always fit the pillock to my clear visor straight away. It's invaluable in the rain - especially on track.
