I fear this information may be wrong, as far as I am aware a 2012 fireblade co2 emissions are 133.2 this would mean out tax would be £125 if compared to cars.
I do wonder where this leads to, stricter MOT tests, that then cost more money, and what about all these de-catted bikes those emissions do not meet the official figures supplied by the manufacturers to the DOT?
Sorry don't want emission test as part of MOT. Don't forget part of the reason for flat spots etc is the manufacturers detuning to meet noise and emission requirements.
yeah you are correct, and a 1 litre Nissan Micra only make 99 co2's, so the petition is incorrect, for 1000cc anyway... I suppose if we had 1000cc diesel bikes maxing revs out at only 4500rpm we might get a reduction lol
600 sports have a very similar level of emissions I think. Things like the cbr 600f should be a lot lower though
I'd rather they left us alone to mess about with our de-catted zorsts, Power Commanders etc etc etc The Tax is Fek all anyway at £76/annum for a Thou!
was my thoughts when I seen the thread. I know it's been discussed before that if they did this we would be paying more
Apologies this one is not for me. I have worked in the car leasing business for years and we are the only country to hit people on the c02 levels and like puppets we just take it! If the French don't like it, they kick off whereas we do nothing! Rant over , for now
Let's face it bikes are no longer the "green" option. Less mpg than many new cars, back tyres every 2000 miles front tyres every 4000 miles, oil sump holds as much oil if not more than new cars, with oil changes much more frequent. We blather our back wheels with chain lube. If were you I'd keep quiet. PS no research has gone into the above statements but I bet I'm not far off.
