Agreed pal. After Ducati's fortune at MotoGP level, leaving Kawasaki is a very brave move. Good luck to them though. Shakey has his work cut out now, and Josh Brookes isn't giving up the title easily.
The panagoolie has shown a lot of good promise in wsbk especially as the year went on and development progressed. Hopkins has also shown some flashes of the ducs brilliance in bsb in recent meetings but he has a tendency to fling it at the nearest set of bushes as he did before flying his leg over the duc in his supposed come back run at the bsb title! Kwak had also promised factory support to the jg speedfit team but it's not clear if this was reason for pbm to jump ship or a reaction from kwak as pbm indicated they were switching manufacturers.
they are racing sbk's though.. and the wsb bike is competitive... and as said, development already in progress. Think the kwak will be good though no doubt as its more evolution then a whole new bike, it's rare what Yamaha have done this year with a brand new bike. Shakey has good form on the twins also doesn't he? getting no younger and may have just been offered a two year contract on very good money? too hard to turn down... who knows.
And BSB rules are more restrictive than WSB (ecu's etc) making it a lot leveller playing field. Even the blade had flashes of brilliance this year.
True and lets face it, the Kwak is no match for the R1 at mo which will just get better.... so maybe worth the gamble? The R1 looks so strong mid to late race that it's almost like JB is toying with them....
If JB is back in BSB onboard the R1 then theres your winner with the Ducati with SB in second, don't think the new zx10 will live with them....
Rumour is that JB is off to WSB on Aprilia with Shaun Muir Racing (hopefully) Oh, and Tommy Hill is going to run the R1 next year.
He hinted that "if he came back to bsb" etc so no surprise.... But you'd think they'd want to take the r1 with them that they have all the data etc...... Hey ho, what da we know
Yeah Tommy hill Motorsport is the factory supported yam setup in bsb, he has signed up Hopkins as the first rider with another rider to be announced soon but deals meant to be done. They spoke out about Hopkins due to the pairs title history with brands hatch from few yrs back! And as said cresent have dumped Suzuki and took on factory yam support for wsbk next year with lowes and ginters who brings over pata sponsor from honda so it will be cresent pata Yamaha, the current milwalkie squad are pretty short on top options for 2016 really!
