It's pretty cold up there at the best of times so it must be freezing! Might take the Land Rover up there if the snow falls properly...
Know it well; horseshoe pass is fantastic I used to spend a lot of time in N Wales as my old folks used to own a holiday home in Abersoch. There is also a fantastic road between Bala and Traw something or other which goes round the lake and down towards the coast (if you are going east to west), can’t remember the name now. Think it’s the A421. I buggered off for a few days over there to clear my head when I split up with the ex wife and rode that road on my old blade like I had a death wish, which looking back I probably did. One of my all time great stupid rides. That road is etched in my mind forever. Anyone else know it?
I'm sure I've ridden that road but I can't think what it's called either, there are quite a few great roads out this way. Can't wait for it to snow properly so I can test the Defender out!
Hi Freedom yup Thats the Road A4212 Bala to Trawsfynynn absolute carnage massive sweepers /roller coaster hills / and when you get to the end with the petrol station on your right turn right and more mayhem until you then turn off for a shithole called Blaenau Ffestiniog which is again a top road you Welsh boys don't know how lucky you are ,Great roads and as much lamb as you can eat ,you should be ashamed.
Hi Giv, that’s the one. Carnage is a good word for it. Not sure I would have the inclination or the balls to ride it like I did back then. Quite like to do it again but just not so recklessly this time. I once got my leg over in Wales, her mother walked in us and all she could was say was Baaa. Predictable I know but funny none the less.
Haven't been up horse shoe pass for years. Use to stop up there Thursday evenings after my tour of Snowdonia. Use to get some bread for feeding the sheep before heading back to Blackpool. I remember once, I managed to get one on the coach, a rather well spoken lady sat at the front was quite taken aback, and said eeeww, what about the smell and fleas. I said no problem lady. Sure the sheep will get used to it. Oh the memories
