For 10,995 and only 3 miles, I'd expect the warranty to be 2 years from when you roll it out... 10,995 (Plus extras) is what I paid for mine back in March last year... H
Gotta be worth a haggle to get the price down or ask for some extra extras on top of the seat cowl. I'd definetly be asking about the warranty and why it can't be a full one when it leaves the showroom. You sure about ABS? If you're gonna use it in the rain etc and you feel it's gonna be of benefit then yes but it limits opportunities for blinging the brakes such as braided lines, master cylinder, costs for servicing ABS too. If I had my choice again I wouldn't bother with it.
As far as the balance to the Honda warranty the first thing that comes to mind is that the dealership has pre registered the bike meaning the dealer is the first owner (dealers do this normally in order to recieve manufacturer rebates for bikes sold/registered) so warranty began when they registered the bike and the new owner gets the balance when they buy the bike as the second owner! With regards to the abs thing, there has been a few issues with regards to its functionality which allowed the lever to come back to the bar when braking in slower traffic for example, where the rider uses the the front brake lever in an on off use without fully releasing the lever before pulling the brake lever in again. I have personally had this issue on two seperate Honda abs equipped bikes but other riders on the same bikes later on the same day as me never had an issue, think this is due to my braking habits (do a search for abs on here) but Honda deny any knowledge or existence of said problem and call it a behaviour characteristic of the brake system! The other thing to keep in mind is as said the additional maintenance costs involved in the abs system, bleeding the brakes is costed at 5.5 hrs of labour to change the brake fluid which is expected to be changed every two years.
Personal experience with an ABS Blade, is do not touch one with a barge pole until Honda redesign the system, you are beasically paying for the privilege of being a crash test dummy for them.
Remember You are the Boss. Another deal is always around the corner, bargain hard but fair. Know exactly what you want. I don't think the world is knocking down the door for an ABS Blade. Great bike Tho, Good luck Mike.
Its not the right colours sps, i only like the Repsol colours and of course the extra 20bhp that come with the Repsol
I'd go for the HRC colour one SPS listed, There are that many Blades at Hunts at the moment it really is take your pic. I find Hunts quite firm on their prices but they will haggle things like delivery , maybe next service labour charges. Mind you don't up with a Ducati as they have boat loads of them taken in PX against Blades! Hunts Motorcycles
Yeah the abs is something that im not to interested in TC would have been a much better option imo. However my requirements are that it must be on a 2013 plate, in Repsol colours with very low if any milage, and the one ive posted is the best i can find in a relatively local area........
Unless you have fists of ham, you don't need TC on a Blade, unlike the other 1K competitors, it has the easiest to exploit power delivery IMO
Never needed TC on the blade as you can always feel what the bikes doing! However twat radar would be good so I know what pillock is about to pull out next
Ok, thanks to Daznorthwest ive taken the plunge, he was kind enough to sell me his almost brand new Repsol and i rode her back today. She's now sat in the dining room where it will stay until the weather changes..... Heres some photos although there not of great quality....
I wish I was cool enough to have such an awesome, amazing, sexy, stunning Repsol in my garage ! Oh wait I do !! Well done looks ace... hope he did you a good deal
