I've just refitted my Honda screen 4 times (don't ask) trying to fit the Power Bronze Double Bubble screen I bought. I have an '14 bike, but the screen is for a '12 or '13 model I think? Any way it seems that the top four gromit holes (edit: on the new screen) are 1mm too small for the gromits. Everything seems to line up and I'm concerned about the curve on the gromit holes for the mid mounting screws since there isn't much leyway for the screw to find the nut at the end of the gromit as it is. The screen looks totally sick so I'm tempted just to drill out the holes. Any comments/suggestions?
If it is only 1mm and If you think it will line up nicely down edges where the screen meets the fairing etc then I guess it won't be an issue. It is difficult to advise though when not there looking at it. You just want to make sure it fits well and does not look bodged once fitted. Also, not sure if drilling would work to enlarge the holes. You may break or scratch the screen? You could do with a step drill or reamer.
Holes drilled - 1mm was the exact amount; I sanded down the rough edges as well so not to damage the rubber thingies - it fitted perfectly.
Nicely done, looks very nice Now you just need to fit after market leavers, exhaust, crash protection and general carbon bling
Today I managed to put a magnet on the pillion seat for the alarm... the stock magnet was fitted to the cowl so I had to buy a 2nd one. Once that was done fit some kriega drybag loops; I tried a zillion different ways, either the fairing wouldn't sit right or the seat wouldn't fit... just plain annoying. And then drilling, sanding and fitting the screen!
