i fitted my PCV today. also installed the later firmware update and reset the throttle position etc. took it for a quick test ride with the map for standard EU bike and it does feel a bit better in the mid range. Im still waiting for the O2 eliminator to come which i have heard will improve the low down fuelling as without it the bike runs the OE map in the lower rpms. should get that on monday. i will see how it runs with the leo map when i get the exhaust but will end up with a custom map i think. just need my new exhaust and my still waiting for my new brembo to arrive though!
exhaust i bought is a leo vince EVOII with the heat shield by the way. looking forward to getting it on!
I've got the same setup and mine runs great with O2 sensor elim, baffle in and map from the DJ website.
which exhaust you got? did you get rid of the 3500-5000rpm flat spot? im hoping the o2 eliminator does the trick and im sure the new pipe will free things up a lot
I've got the oval EVOII in CF. It's improved the low rev feeling a bit, but I actually think the only real workaround for that issue is changing the gearing.
Iv been looking into custom maps and for the same money i can buy an auto tune module.. Surley its better to have a constantly changing map for all conditions over a fixed programmed map? Or am i not understanding how the auto tune module works?
Yeah I think you're right, but it depends on the definintion of "better". I think auto tune works to a target AFR defined by the user, but I don't know if you can specify different targets for different revs ranges. Also, this means you're not not necessarily mapping for best power or best efficiency. For me, it's too much hassle (fitting, setting up, accepting map changes etc) for too lttle gain.

My Leo Vince came today so will be fitted tomorrow. Today i got my Brembo master cylinder fitted and made a bracket for the reservoir. Will bleed the brake tomorrow also and still need to wire up the brake light switch. Will put some photos up when its sorted. Still waiting for the o2 eliminator to turn up though. I've tried to buy a replacement from dynojet and they wont sell them without a power commander as well!
Auto Tune can constantly update the mapping in the PCV unit, it constantly reads the AF mixture from the O2 sensor port on the exhaust and sends it back to the PCV to adjust on the fly, there are separate ways of doing it though, you can have the AutoTune constantly tuning, you can run it for a tune, send the settings to a permanent map on the PCV then turn it off for the time being or you can buy a switch unit that you install on the bike and then when you flip back to the PCV the autotune will relay the map back to the bike and store it and turn off and then just the PCV will run. To use the PCV or any unit that measures the AF mixture on the O2 sensor port you must do the PAIR mod - the PAIR system is the system that dumps air from the airbox into the exhaust system to burn non combusted fuel, if you leave the PAIR system intact it will completely b0rk dyno runs and any auto tuning. When getting a custom map, if the Dyno center know what they are doing they will clamp the pair hoses off temporarily so they can get the right figures for their setup. If they don't they've done a crap map for ya. I'd also recommend doing the flapper mod for the 3500-4500 blip a lot of you are talking about, Honda have flappers that limit induction to the airbox below 5000rpm, a lot of people have looked into it and there is no performance gain to Honda doing this, it's simply for noise and emission regulations. The PAIR mod is slightly trickier than the Flapper mod, but both are reasonably doable, the PAIR mod will need some parts from your local DIY store or some custom parts. I'd link to another forum to give you the howtos but I don't know if that's the done thing, but both are easily google-able !
Other places will sell you a DynoJet O2 Sensor Eliminator if you quote your Power Commander's serial number.
Is that a typo? You can use a PCV without the PAIR mod, not the Autotune module though. Why do you recommend the intake flapper mod? Sounds like you realise there is really no gain to be had from it (for a standardish bike anyway).
Yeah it was a typo lol, should have said AutoTune lol or the Bazzaz equivalent to the Autotune ! Yeah it just levels out the power curve, so its less hesistant in low revs, dyno shows a slightly more linear curve, but riding it just feels like a smoother experience, less blips in the lower revs equals quicker spin up to the power zone !
Tried 3 places and they cant get them. Dynojet wont supply them without a PCV apparently to try and stop people buying used power commanders on ebay etc.

Yeah that's simplest, although I've heard some technically minded people saying never to put screws in the breather hose for some reason or something. I did it anyway, works fine for me used a plug from a plumbing shop, worked a treat, 50p ! If you're around London you can have a quick spin on mine see how you like it.
