I couldn't find much info online about whether fitting a power commander to a stock bike and removing the exhaust valve would properly sort out the dead spot around 4,000rpm on a 2015 fireblade. Happy to report it does! I'm running a stock map with stock exhaust and air filter. I've deleted the exhaust valve and fitted the servo buddy to deal with the warning light on the dash. I've removed the O2 sensor and fitted a blanking cap to the exhaust and shorting plug to the connector. Very pleased with the results. Bike is very smooth, doesn't have that horrible lurch when the exhaust valve opens and feels a lot more wholesome at low revs. All ready now for a custom map if I ever decide to fit an aftermarket exhaust.
@CharlieR85 Which power commander are you running? I'm toying with the idea of getting one once I've forked out for new fairings as I feel as though I've a dead spot on mine.
The map I'm using is off the dynojet website 16-034-501 (European model, stock exhaust, stock air filter). https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/95132 Theres the link for the power commander, SBS website has that listed for a 2012 bike but when you email them and check which model number they have that down as they say it's 16-034 and sure enough that is what gets sent out too.
If you do buy one and you wanted a map switch for it then let me know and I will make you up a switch and send it you no problem. I've got my switch switching between the stock bike map and the zero map.
