Took the bike in to get an idea on a value on a trade in, even though I won’t be trading it for anything. 15 plate repsol 13k on the clocks Will be bog standard apart from a tail tidy and hel lines when sold Excellent condition and over serviced by myself. was told he’d do me a favour and offer me over book at 5.5k The theiving git… anyone also sold something similar lately and if so what were you offered? Cheers
I think that is probably about right, I have a standard 2015 model and I would be very happy with 5.5k
Sounds about right for trade offer on a 7 year old Blade. Trade have advertising costs, warranty costs, pay VAT on the profit, overheads etc.
But that isn't 2 - 3 grand profit. Try elsewhere if you're not happy with the offer - or sell private.
Thankfully an informed comment. Most punters think that every penny over the trade price is pure profit. How many on here understand margin VAT? and what it costs the trader That’s before all the other items above, and things like sales commission, staff training, franchising costs, business rates, insurances and the list goes on and on, dig into it and you’ll start to understand why the bike shop on the corner in every town of our youth has disappeared. No matter what people think regarding dealers, it would look a very different place without them.
You'll always get more selling privately as we all know, but you have to be prepared to take the hit if you're thinking of trading in. I've done it myself, in fact I traded two bikes in to get my Ducati and everyone said at the time "you would have got more privately" sure I could, but when a deals on the table you have to do what suits at the time!
Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, will quote way under and knock you down even further when you take it in for them to buy it off you! Recently sold my wife's Peugeot 308 and from what they paid me from what they offered me initially was mind boggling!! Just for fun a few weeks ago I put my Panigale v4 2020 model details in, just too see what the result was....... 13k!!! You can't get a 2020 model for less than 18k at the moment so that is a fucking liberty in my book!!! Dealers will very often give you the best possible price for a trade in, far better than any of the we buy any car/bike or what have you
I tried we buy any bike recently, £2300 for my 14 plate with a mere 38k miles. I think the OP got a fair valuation.
when you consider that against what I got quoted, mine was crap especially when it was against a 21k bike
WeBuyAnyBike offered me £1200 more for my SC77 than the dealer when I was looking at a RR-R SP last week. The Aprilia dealer was a lot more generous, even when trading in against an already discounted RSV4.
