So I returned home after a short ride back from my work the other day to find a I had a screw stuck good and proper in my 1 month old s20r! After screaming and pointing at it in disbelief followed by a few tears ;) I then manned up and ordered a replacement. So after getting it fitted today I decided to go for a ride to scrub it in.

My mums partner Grant who was on his 1200gs with me today found what I'm about to share very amusing so I thought you guys might like it too.

We were on the road to Dunkeld which is great fun but very twisty and has a lot of overhanging trees which of course drop leaves and also prevent the road from properly drying out after spells of rain which we had the through the night. Great conditions for a new tyre! Also not helping that I don't know the road that well

Anyway Grant was in front with me on his tail and we came up to a tight right hander. Approaching with speed I gently eased the front brake on but quickly realised the corner was much tighter than I first thought and tried my best to lose my speed. I didn't lose my speed, instead I hit a damp patch along with some fallen leaves and bottled it. I stood it up and thankfully continued down a very well positioned driveway with the rear kicking out like a speedway bike  I skidded to a controlled stop, well maybe not so controlled.... Only to realise that 2 blokes were stood in the drive looking in disbelief and gestured to me to see if was okay, which I did appreciate. Feeling quite embarrassed and with out thinking I pulled my phone out my pocket and said ''yeah thanks just checking my phone ''

Needless to say I didn't hang around too long and exited his drive with my head hanging in shame :( What a d**k!

    The screw in the tyre.....

I'm gonna see if I can get this repaired, if so I'll use it next time around.

lol - unlucky with the tyre. Does look repairable tho. Quick thinking with the phone tho lol. I would have prolly just looked around and blamed a bit of diesel on the road... :D

Pretty sure the 2 blokes knew I was bluffing but like you said better than blaming the road haha It's the first time I've done that though, can't say I enjoyed it much!

Not quite so bad with just one but hate scrubbing new front and rear tyres! I have learnt my lesson with this one though ;)

They must think your missus is a total psycho and you are so terrified of her that you have to emergency stop the moment she calls you..... :D

Probably thought 'poor bloke' as you rode off ;)

Sure we have all done similar with the bend, not the driveway bit though ;) Should have asked the blokes if it was Tarquin's house :D
