As so me of you know, I bought a personal plate for the bike. However, the retention certificate arrived, but I've no idea how to do it. The certificate is still in the owners name, but they have put my name in he nominee section and signed it. Apparently, I need to send off £25? Then I think the certificate gets sent back to the owner, not me?

There's a dvla office in Chester near me, can I take it down to them with the £25, my v5 doc and tax disc, an have the plate vtransferred to me? Or do I need to send off the certificate with the £25, and then get the owner to resend it to me after my name as the nominee is put on?

    Cheers.

Take the retention certificate along with the v5 and tax disc to your local DVLA office. There is no extra charge for transfering the cherished number onto your vehicle once your a nominee on the retention.certificate.
    Hope that clarifies the situation.
