As there is so much controversy surrounding the ABS thread. Can I just ask you to vote using the Poll above. Only if you have, or have had an ABS Fireblade please vote either yes or no. Have ever experienced any sort of issue around the ABS's operation? No need for any comments Vote YES or No.
There is not any controversy around the ABS thread IMO, some people have bikes that stop some don't. Its a fact plain and simple. The system is unreliable thats been proven beyond doubt.
Can't really see this thread being too helpful myself, as mentioned some folks have had bikes that the brakes don't work when they have the IMH flawed and failure that was the Honda combined abs system! Surely any failure in a braking system which is The most important system in any automobile! They must have the ability to stop every single time the brakes are applied and do so in a predictable way, this can not be said to be true for the c-abs system which is only fitted to two models in the whole Honda lineup! If the system is so great and working correctly why would they not fit it to there whole line and cut out the 3rd party abs system manufacturers like Bosch? I would be very very surprised if the system makes an appearance when the new model blade and baby blades get released!
How many times does this forum need to discuss this? Maybe a mod should create a sticky and discourage new threads. Not that IGAF cos my R1 hasn't got ABS and neither did any of my Blades
It already is a sticky in the general discussion section with 15 pages of posts! As well as numberious other threads all related to c-abs......
I know the ABS thread has been done to death many times. I have seen the many threads and I have read them. I noticed a thread placed on here earlier and realised that although we know the ABS bikes have problems we don't really have an understanding of what percentage of ABS bikes do/don't have this braking issue. Please don't comment, vote if you want. Or just ignore the numerous ABS threads if you have nothing new to say.
Your never ever going to get people just posting in a sticky-ed thread. Just look at what tyres thread, post your youtube vids thread. all posted to try and help everyone have 1 place to post. yest not everyone will see or post in there. I cannot close this thread without closing the posting. which is a same
I don't want this thread closing Remal. Why would you want to? It is not the same as the other threads.
I think he is more looking at the flaw in your non posting rule in this thread, without people posting it will fall further and further back thru the forum so you will only really see people opening it within miby first few days then other newer threads will push it backwards in the old pages so won't get spotted by new visitors! But at same time what are you expecting to achieve or see in such a poll? Some people's bikes are affected with the brake issue but certain riders can influence the outcome more ie take the same bike one rider finds fault with it and second rider does not!
i was looking at being able to stop people posting and only voting as per your request which I looked into and would result in the voting being closed as well. thus I have not closed the thread
I was hoping to find out a very very rough ratio the number of bike with problems to the number of bikes not showing any sign (yet) of problems. Mine was a late developer. I see what you mean about putting it up as sticky or stopping comments. Sorry I misunderstood.
Lets hope the RR forum is not representative of general Blade ABS ownership. 40% of owners staining their pants when the ABS system takes a nap..............that's not good for custom.
