Following on from my post a few months ago about my daughter getting a good job so soon after finishing University, well yesterday my little girl made me doubly proud when she officially graduated from Bournemouth University with her forensic science degree. :)

    Congratulations!

I know a couple of people who did forensic science degrees, (an area I find interesting myself), but neither managed to have a career in that field as the jobs are so sparse.

My niece has a degree in forensic pathology but works as a hostess at a high end restaurant in NYC. Apparently a tough field to break into.

There were loads of Scenes of Crime officer positions advertised when she got her current job.

She had the choice of about 6 different Police forces that she could have applied for, but a lack of driving licence was her biggest drawback ( a situation which I hope will soon be remedied ;) )

But the jobs are out there if someone has the right qualification.

This was probably 7-8 years ago, so maybe things have changed?

Really? 5 months ago is not 7-8 years ago and back in June loads of jobs were being advertised. That was when my daughter finished University and why I mentioned it because it was a job she would have been qualified for and would have applied for if she held a driving licence.

Thames Valley advertise for Scenes of Crime Officers on a regular basis. Surrey have been the same as have Hants and the Met.
