SUZUKI LTZ 400 2009 ****less than ten hours use, Well yesterday was a long one left home 2.15 pm got back 12.30 am this morning , Oswestry/margate/Oswestry 504 mile round trip . Picked up this quad near mint , my son wanted one for ages and found this , He's been on it all afternoon while I watched and he Frightens me to death already , he rides it really well so next thing he says I would like to have a go at racing dad I've told him the players he would be against have loads of bucks and we have not , his answer it don't matter if win or not it will be a laugh . My heart sank will my nerves take it ......... So I've told him get some practice on the fields and See how you get on first , unknown to me one of his mates Used to do it and he's already got some info off him already It's going to be a long winter , but I'll stand by him 100% everytime , ( just not when it's raining , snowing , cold ) Ps , thanks Arthur and Martinowen for all your help.
Shame your so far away mate, but I'd still offer free advice any time and use of out MX track in Surrey... Go for it, just get the right gear and have fun, its worth doing even if just once but thats never the case... lol
Arthur I knew couple of days ago about quad but yesterday was only time I could go for it, He doesn't know yet but me/wife have bought him , A top , trousers , body protector with shoulder / elbow guards , Gloves , and some boots , already got helmet , Got 5 acres for him to mess about on , Plus there's a place about half hour away that's got 4 different tracks to go on .
Sounds good mate! He will be made right up!!! The best advice I could give with the quad is move your body around, slide off the seat and push your ass into the quads seat in turns, dont be afraid to get physical with it but most of all keep moving your mass with the quad.. Some like to convert the thumb throttle to twist grips but it makes it hard to hang on when doing jumps the quad likes to get some air....lol Wide axel can help too if it does not have one, oh and so does full Aurok Ohlins (luck we have one of the top Ohlins car chaps not far)....lol
All good advice from Arthur mate, with regard to the throttle I personally found a twist throttle better on the road but thumb throttle off road, with a twist off road I found that some bumps/jumps would result I me ending up on full trottle unable to release it. Every rider is different though. You can get a throttle that is both twist and thumb built into one and you lock one off and use the other but they aren't cheap aprox £150 Anyway get it on the trailer and get down south me and Arthur want a go lol
If that was my boy I would of told him I needed to put it through some extreme testing before handing the keys over No glad he enjoys it mate
