    Hi
Was looking at the instructions for the Gilles gear selector and have a question.

I had the bike up on the paddock stand and measured the height of the gear selector before starting (doesn't say to do that in the instructions .... glad I did tho)
I removed the 10mm selector nut and the 10mm bolt that holds a silver metal plate under the gearbox housing/shaft.

I slipped on the Gilles selector, but the instructions don't say if the wee metal plate thing should put back in place underneath the Gilles?

Does anyone know why it's there and if it needs to be put back when fitting the Gilles Shift Selector Support dooda?
My head says it doesn't need to be put back, but I did anyway

    Ta :D

You remove the OE metal doo daa and bolt and fit only the gilles support shaft thingy majig with the bolt and washer they supply, torqed to the figure they give.

    A picture speaks a thousand words :)

I sort of got where you were coming from but my bike is the 954 and giving you advice on those fittings would be just silly.... great bit of kit though, very under rated and should be a must have for all bikes.
