After spending time making sure the bike is in the right position etc for oil level check I thought there must be an easier way so I got the oil level right the normal way, then leave your bike overnight where you normally park it on the side stand or however you normally leave it, then take the dipstick out and see where the oil is on it, if it is on the side stand you may have to screw the dipstick fully in this will give you a good enough guide for a pre ride check, and takes seconds the odd thing is mine is not far off the same from the bike vertical, to the bike on the side stand with the dipstick screwed in
