Going to buy one of these next week SP Quickshifter YZF-R6 2006-2011 Complete System Racing | eBay [not for an R6 though] I have contacted the seller and he says he'll sell one for £162.00 for the Blade his feedback looks very good, and I cant find anyone who says its rubbish, he has sold loads as well. The reason for buying this one is its a stand alone, no need for Power commander Not really a fan of power commanders, I have had a few in the passed and too be honest I think there a waste of money, [unless the bike runs rich/lean] the power gains are not that impressive and for what they cost I cant justify an extra 269 quid. plus dyno set-up £100- £150, so when I get the shifter i'll let you guys know how I get on:dirol:
I posted these up a while ago, they get good feedback on gixerjunkies. As for power gains on the dyno.......well i think its more about the power curve than the gains.
Power commanders are ok untill they fail on you and leave you with a 3 mile walk to the nearest service station to use there phone ................... pile of Sh*t :frusty: Sorry rant over........ Will be interested in the quickshifter though as I want one, I had a translogic fitted to the R1 and I miss it loads. Keep us posted
Some very distorted views on PCs here. It's only a tool, the fuel map gives the improvements. Before FI, no-one ever said carb jets were crap!
Let me know how you get on with it. I haven't made a maverick purchase for a while & quite fancy a quick shifter
LOL will do, I have emailed a guy with an 09 Blade who bought one off him, he says its works perfect no issues at all, and he would buy one again if needed. oh and fitting is dead easy, I'll be placing my order middweek
Reckon they'd do a multi-buy discount?.......bit like we've got going on with the gear indicator scenario?
He might do mate, but i'm still buying mine in the week, group buys are a wicked idea, but they takes ages to get the numbers
As a dealer for dynojet uk the number that fail is very small, you must be unlucky.. They are as said only an interface for dyno opps to remap the afr on most bikes, the best way of re mapping is to remap the stock ecu but few can read the raw code and or interface with the stock ecu. As a result of good afr you may or may not see more power, don't forget that many many bikes in the bsb, wsb, iom, ama etc etc etc are running dynojets pc's, if they were just shite I dont think that would be the case.. Gutted you've had them fail but I would be more interested in what caused them to fail. Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
Maybe I used to stronger wording and was far to generic about the Power commander as a whole lol, I was more upset about it failing and my 3 mile push to the petrol station. I have had cars flashed, live mapped etc and not had any problems at all and this is the first Dynojet Power commander I have fitted so was a little disapointed with its failure at just 3 months. It was great when it was working and I do think it is fantastic (when it works), the problem is not the PCV when it is working as I could not fault that its the premature failure which left me stranded that upsets me. I was not expecting big bhp, It gave the smooth mapping and power curve I was expecting so please dont get me wrong I am not slagging off what the unit can do, just the fact that it failed
Oh mate I understand why you would slate pcv! So would I if I had to push my bike for miles...lol I know of a few that have failed and unless your riding round in your garage your going to be pissed if it fails and leaves you stranded.. When you look at the market there are only so many options around that let you remap the stock ecu so we are all over a barrel in fairness the big problem with a lot of other systems is finding a dyno opp that knows them or is willing to try and map them. Imo I dont think it will be too much longer before the goverment balls it up for us all anyway.. Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
I had a pcv and a dynojet quickshifter fitted to my 2010 blade soon after it was run in, on the dyno it was seen that the bike was running very very lean so the pc sorted that little glitch out, as for the quickshifter.............................what more can one say, its awsome, seemless and it picks up the pace so well i wouldnt be without it now
i hated the PCV i had - even when it was dynoed at a very reputable company, it ran like poop. The backfires ended up blowing the exhaust seals from my yoshi, it went down to 80 miles from a tank, the throttle had a huge lumpy lag on it - so removed it last week and I'm in heaven without it to be honest. Just my experience though and I'm glad its working out for others Oh and back to topic - HM shifters are the only route IMO.
I'm not just saying it but 99% of shifters on the market are poor! The ONLY one that works 100% is the HM Plus, you may have seen the RL shifter in the USA that has the same HM strain gauge but again trust me its NAFF! It was built to a spec for the US market and some have found there way over here but keep clear of them! Spend a little more and get the HM Plus you will not regret it.. As for your PCV Zee, thats eBay for ya...lol
nothing wrong with power commanders, never ever had an issue, they are not designed for power increases, its to map the bike for optimum driveability & it works, as for quickshifters, only ever use HM strain Gauge ones, had a dynojet jobby on my zx1or when i first bought it and it was awful. The HM+ on my RR7 is bliss.
