Hi all, I'm new here had my 2017 CBR1000rr for a week now. I'm blown away by it such a great bike. The handling and top end is phenomenal, I've previously owned a 2012 ZX10R and I csnt remember that being this nuts I also had an MT10 MT09 and XJ6F but this CBR makes me grin like mad.

I wanted to ask if the new CBR quickshifter works on the 2017 model as they seem identical, I'm only asking this because I've seen one from a bike that is being broken for spares for a good price.

Also is the low end pinging detrimental enough to cause concern?

    Thanks all

    Beautiful. Congrats.

Low end pinging? Can't say I've ever heard my 2017 SP2 ping or knock at any rpm or throttle opening. Pre-ignition or detonation, either one, are always a concern. At least to me.

Yes low end pinging under 4k rpms or so but only with wide open throttle. It's very common on them and has been reported by many owners. it's because they run so lean with factory mapping. The only solution is get the AFRs tuned.

Guess that makes sense. Mine hasn't had stock mapping since, well ever.
