Dear All, It is with great sadness that I have to report that my husband, Dev Patel has been killed instantly in a motorbike accident on his beloved Blade. Link below for verification: Family of Devish Patel from Congleton pay tribute after fatal Buxton Road motorbike crash | Stoke Sentinel I know that he spent a lot of time on these forums, and I wanted to let you know and also to tell you to all be safe out there. We will be having a motorbike procession behind the funeral cars, and I will be getting on the back of a bike (still plucking up the courage to get my license!) to pay my respects. Ride in Peace Dev - we all love and miss you. Becx Patel.
Our thoughts go out to you and your family at your sad loss, rip dev our thoughts are with you Ride on bud wherever it may be .
Very sorry to hear such sad news, if there is anything myself or the mod team can do to help please do not hesitate to contact one of us. R.I.P. Dev
So sorry for your loss Becx, also sorry to say there have been a few biker involved incidents over the holiday weekend!
Dear All, Thanks everyone for your wishes, they are greatly appreciated. I am finding comfort in hearing motorbikes, believe it or not! I know that he died doing what he loved, and the moment he got on his bike was the moment that he truly felt free. As I said before, we are hoping to have a "memorial" ride up the Cat and Fiddle, with me on the back of my friend's bike, so I will keep you posted when this might be, and if any of you wanted to meet up there, please do come along. When I am with bikers, I feel that I am with my husband. You are all a very special community and I am privileged to have been a small part of it through my husband. Thanks Becx
Can't possibly say any more than the members have already. All of our thoughts and condolences are with you and your family. Ken
Becx This is such terrible news to read - There are enough of us from this area that I am sure we could arrange a Fireblade rideout one evening up to the Cat and Fiddle now the evenings are getting longer. Tue / Wed / Thur prob. the best to go for. Biking / Bikes can be cruel - I hope you are able to draw strength as you say that he truly felt 'free / at ease' on his bike while enjoying his hobby / past time as much as he clearly did.
