fitted my R77 the other day and love the sound. It is very jerky at low speed / small throttle opening now. It is very difficult to maintain low speed in traffic. As soon as i apply a bit of throttle or put the bike under load (up hill for example) it is better. Anyone else had this with the R77? I have just been reading a little about the intake flapper mod. Could it be it would improve my problem?
no PCV or lambda eliminator. I fitted a full yoshi to my busa and had no probs at all so i hoped this would be the same.
I've got an RR6 blade and fitted a full race system the other week, and also have the jerkyness at small throttle openings. I've already fitted a PCV but so far the maps i've tried haven't smoothed it out properly, so i'm planning on getting a custom map done but the only place locally that can map it is waiting on a part for there dyno machine!
hmmm you will always get snatchy throttle at low speeds rpm when fitting just exhausts! i take say for instance your in 5 at 30 mph and you drop 1-2 gears its smooth? You next upgrade is defo pcv and elim and a k&n should be mint then as for your probs andrew sounds a weird one you got all the gear and still its no good hmmmmm conflict in you map installs? I have a leo gp pro pcv and elim/k&n and its smooth as even 6th gear at 35 to full throttle is mint But yeah defo custom map all the ways next on my list that and maxton fork internals haha!!
A few boys on here have reported the lumpy idle with an R77 and most have resolved it with a PCV . Not always the case thou . Matt for example (Remal ) is running an R77 on his 2011 Repsol with no PCV and she is running sweet as a nut. I have PCV ans eliminater for my R77 , not coz it was lumpy but because its now my 4th exhaust so i wanted the best from the bike and the freedom to try different types of cans that would require a fuel map change .. Im sure the boys that have overcome the lump idle will be along soon to give they're advise .. Mine is to get a power commander but like i said Matt's bike is cool so its not always the case . watch his Andora tour vids and you can hear how she runs
Bazzaz Fi is cheaper than the PCV, had that fitted and custom mapped with my Yoshi and ran a whole lot better for all of 1 day
My problem is i've got a USA spec bike in the UK and an ex BSB full exhaust system, so it's knowing which map to use out of the 84 i've got to choice from!!
I have the R77 and mine is a bit Jerky however thats what i thought it would be like and in a way i kinda like it. To smooth = boring (to me).
remember you have de-cat"d the bike guys so its gotta affect the fuelling .. PCV i reckon . you won't regret it
'decanted' ............ thats wot you do to a fine wine or whisky .. pour it into a decanter to act posh in front of the neighbours at Xmas .. leasantry: Ha ... you beat me to it ... sneeky
Have a R77 on mine 2011 Blade with no baffle and it runs a bit lumpy below 3k revs, but have got use to it and it does sound quite nice at that revs in town, plus it helps with low speed roundabouts too. Above 3k it runs great and pulls like a train, but to be honest it wasn't the smoothest at those revs with the standard can fitted anyway and don't think can justify the cost of pcv ?!
Just joking JM1! I love the sound without the baffles. Looks like i will have to get a PCV eventually.
