I've just ordered a R77 slip on kit with heatshield ETC - I've just asked my dealer to quote me to fit it which came in around £100 - He did say the following which is kinda weird/odd "Make sure the exhaust comes with the servo/sensor/ for the exhaust valve - if it does not have it - it will mess up your fuel injection" - He said if it doesn't have this then send it back for one that does - apparently only the akra has this - WTF - :frusty: I've a taylormade fitted and I just removed the solenoid cable when I installed it as I thought the exhaust valve was only for noise limits and did nothing to the running of the bike - I've had it installed for 2 years and the bike appears to be running fine . I am sure the R77 does not have an exhaust valve fitted - is he talking b0ll0x? :suicide2: Everyone else who has R77's installed what did you/your dealer do?
There is no exhaust valve, only on the stock exhaust, just remove the exhust valve cable but make sure you wind the servo motor back to its original position( as it was when the cable was fitted) then it will be fine, screw in the o2 sensor and bingo away you go, its not a bad job to do yourself
The instructions are so easy to follow, do not waste £100 getting them to fit it!!! I'd do it for £50 if you were local.
I agree - I've had a good look at the PDF's - It looks easy to install - I am just a little concerned about getting the taylormade off. He's talkin b0ll0x about the exhaust servo as only the "road legal" akra has this - all others don't plus I've had the TM on for nearly 2 years without the servo and the bike is just fine - I will treat it to a rolling road and a PowerCommander / K&N though - she deserves it after nearly 19,000miles
there will defo be no fuelling issues. theyre talking rubbish have a go at fitting it yourself. theyre dead easy to fit.
So the supplier has just come back to me to say the US yoshi does not have the o2 sensor hole :-( - kinda p!$$ed as this was one of the reasons for fitting it - I guess I'll need to find a blanking device somewhere. So is the O2 sensor only good with the stock exhaust then? I guess if I go for the PC route this will be addressed anyway?
You,re not that far from me , bring it down here and we,ll do it in 1/2 hour and go for a blat.? Can back fit a O2 sensor thread if you need one.
get the PCV and O2 eliminator and it will get the best out of your bike mate you can get them cheap enough now
You will need to remove the existing gasket ring which is on the end of the piece of pipe you fit the new one onto this is in the instructions and i had to cut mine off .
I'm pretty sure the one I ordered and had delivered from the states on Saturday has the O2 sensor hole, who you ordering off mate? My mate fitted it but from what I remember the O2 sensor plug got screwed back in after figment alignment etc.
biohazard are supplying it - they got confused thinking I was asking for an O2 illiminator - they have confirmed there is an o2 sensor lug hole for the factory one. I am gonna fit it myself after all the chat on this thread - should be a breeze - the only concern I have is getting the taylor made off as it has a compression fitting
what do you mean by compression fitting? i cant see it being an issue to remove. im sure its just like a normal slip on slip on exhausts usually just have a flared end with slots so it fits over the old pipe and can be tightened onto it.
all sorted well - I finally got my R77 zorst from biohazzard in the US took just over 2 weeks and I paid £440 for it plus £28 handling fee - cheap enough. Got the spanners out today and fitted it - quality product and went on with a bit of care with no issues - and boy does she sound sweet - I thought the taylormade was nice - but OMG the yoshi is just like whaaaaaaaaa! love it - the only thing I need to do now is get my lamba sensor replaced as it looks like mine has given up [2 flashes and 3 long with the side stand down] - still well happy - and biohazzard was all good I'm a happy bloke today!
I BINNED it, the carbon trim was f3cked where it rubbed , the zorst was all rusty and was a pig to get off and yes, looked like it was ready to fall apart, I ended up hammering it off. Worst thing ever, wish I never bought it in the first place. The yoshi is luvely - just need to tweak the heat shield so it fits flush with the belly pan. Time to save for a rolling road, new air filter and PCV!
a good 2 years, 19k miles, and was pretty much brown in colour, all the connectors felt wobbly as did the welds. It's a POS! :-( oh well lesson learnt, I wanted to be a little bit different but it didn't pay off - and you know what was a real p1sser is that my local 'race' shop had the bike 4 weeks to try and get the taylormade to fit properly and to repair the trim. They gave up and rang me to say they couldn't do anything with it - yet today when I got the trim off there was ZERO evidence of them even removing the exhaust in the f3ckin first place - good job they only charged me to remove my rear pegs ..... I wont be using them again, funny that eh? [Dave Hammond Racing, Kent]
