Race shift

Quick question for Toby or Arthur please..

Ive changed my gearing round so I'm now in race shift so i notice that when knocking down to go up through the gears I'm pulling on the ss quick shifter, does this mean i need to change from compression to extension??

Cheers wedgie, this is the best i can do but you can see that if i was to press down to change up i would be pulling on the quick shifter..

If the QS worked before you switched to race shift I'd imagine it should still work now. Normally it's just reversing the way the gear lever is moved to achieve the same thing, an up shift, pressing down instead of up. If the race shift mod is just moving the point the connecting rod joins the lever to before the pivot point, rather after it or visa versa it should still be on the same setting. The rod connecting to the gearbox still has to travel in the same direction to change gears race shift or not. If it's a different kind of mod that might be different. A pic would be useful.

Ah you've replied with a pic while I was typing that. Do you have a before pic? But looking at that you need it set on extension not compression.

 

Sorry mate i don't have a before picture but i think your right, surely it must be extension...

 

Hi bud deffo extension easiest way to test is IGNTITON on and press lever down SHIFT should display on screen

For anyone change from road to race or vice versa you will simply need to go to the opposite of what you currently have set just to confirm
