Hi All I am looking at possibly getting an R&G radiator guard for starters for my 2013 blade and then later on the downpipe guard, does anyone else have either of them? If so are they any good? Are they worth the investment? Thanks in advance for your comments/views Rob
I would not ride a bike without it on british roads! Worth the investments (even flies can bend the cooling fins!) It fitted like a glove on my RR8 can't help you on the downpipe guard I am affraid
Radiator guard is great. Header guard on mine has fallen to bits. It has a clip which attaches it to one of the headers, the mesh around the rivet come away. Had it repaired by a welder, looked solid but hasn't lasted very long.
Definitely recommend rad guard as an effective way of saving money and preventing costly damage. Have a look at "Racing Radiator Guards" a favourite with many forum members and great service
I'll 3rd RRG on eBay around 30 quid if i remember right. Lock wire supplied with them but dare say the tight fit would keep it in place
yeah R&G header guard is poor design the way its attached, mine broke trying to put it on, toatal waste of £40
Wouldn't ride my blade without a radiator guard, only a matter of time before a stone goes through it. R&G guards are a good fit and easy to install. No doubt there are other makes equally as good if not better, the important thing is to protect the radiator. Personally wouldn't bother with header guard I would rather keep them exposed and be able to clean them regularly.
I agree with all of that. I had a CBR600RR that picked up a big stone ding in the radiator and I've had R&G radiator guards ever since. Did buy a cheapo guard for the blade from eBay, but it was rubbish fit so sent it back and bought an R&G.
