Just read on Facebook that the first RAF Valley track days will be held on the 5th and 6th of April. £60 single day or £100 for weekend and all proceeds are going to charity as usual. I did one in September last year and had a great time. Tyre truck on hand from Infront Motorcycle and run by a fantastic bunch of lads too, what more could you ask for?
THis is a top day - I def hope to attend, Moz who used to be on this is site organised the very first one at RAF Valley a few years back and now he is based there again will no doubt be helping out. It would be idea 'shakedown' for the new racers to have a play at, just a shame a bit far from Kent
£100 is good for the weekend! How big is the track? How do you get on with the all the cones everywhere, do you get used to the track layout? Is RAF valley near Anglesey?
The layout is pretty big really, don't know a length, but there are a couple of big straights in there, together with some nice fast sweeping corners too. The layout takes a bit of getting used to as it is completely flat, so you really do have to rely on the cones, but once you have got it, it is great fun. RAF Valley is at the North of Anglesey, pretty close to the port town of Holyhead.
Yes as Rob said it's pretty long and well set out with something for everyone. What's more if you cock some sections up you can go straight on down the runway and turn round to re-join. Are you going this year Robin?
Reminds me of the annual one at Waddington, Lincs. in May for £55, bargain. http://www.airfieldridingday.co.uk
It's on Facebook and to book/more info by emailing [email protected] Price remains the same as 2013 ; £60/day or £100 for both! https://www.facebook.com/events/204094256459218/
I took the pictures for this last year and I also did the one at RAF Shawbury which was a cracking day out , So will see you there most prob .
Well I won't know you all , but I'll be the only photographer there , So come and say hello , there WILL NOT be any pictures sold on the day All images will be on website , www.barneysphotography.co.uk Better deal to be had by having all images put onto a disk .
I would like to but I have got my first race of the year the weekend before, so it all depends on how things go with that. I would like to get there as it is organised by a mate of mine who also races, so always good to show support.
You'd better be Darren Garrod so I can give you this bloody tenner back from September last year, been riddled with guilt since fleecing you on your fuel, even resorted to phoning the Samaritans
