Flipping heck I would have gone mental , I wouldn't of parked it in a row like that don't even do it with a 10k blade normally the sports touring lot with to many burgers in them and can't lift there fat stubby legs over and they all go over......
That's bloody awful. Did I see it right, is it the guy filming who knocks the bmw over? I bet he felt sick. So does the owner of the Rcv have to claim off his own insurance or sue the arse off that guy?
I wonder if the Insurance Co will now sell me that 'Written Off' Bike as a Cat D for £5K? Make a mint Track Bike!
The RCV owners insurance will payout initially, then I have no doubt they will want to subrogate the loss against the BMW which fell into it. The Insurer of the BMW will then want to recover off the chap who knocked the BMW over (if it was not the rider of the BMW). Anyway - where is the proof that the frame is marked to write it off ? The insurer could spend £75k on replacement frame and be quids in, surely the engine costs loads.
In theory yes - he caused the damage but it all depends if the insurer is able to trace him, has he assets , be tricky as the insurable vehicle (the BMW) did not cause it - no doubt there will be some head scratching by the owner and his insurer / supplying dealer. Unless its some weird stunt - but strange to film and post yourself causing £150,000 of damage onto the Internet
How can the frame cost more than 150,000 to replace.. Not sure it's a write off. But the frames are hand made, I suspect there are just no spare frames available is why it's written off. Think the short production run is finished so he can't even get another bike!
