Evening people! Are any of you nutters trying out the new website and app 'realrider'? Not had a thorough rummage on there, but seems good so far! give us a look up if your on there (Bill Nye) may be good for scheduling ride outs. Ill post more info as I learn more REALRIDER®
no listen fez...im being honest with you...we've done nothing...no chat, no laughter, no innuendos. honest fez, you know your my one and only forum...this realrider is like a plaything, a mistress, something to play with at lunch Seriously though the app is an emergency app, route planner etc. still exploring it tbh
give us an update when you have finished exploring then, cant say im to happy to try your sloppy 2nds though
It looks like it could be full of 'Mericuns talking at length about the correct method for taking "turns".......or cornering technique to you and me. Where I come from a "turn" is the bloke who does stand up / sings Barry Manilow songs in the local workies club on a Saturday night. "You coming to the club tonight? Apparently it's pie and peas for £2.50 and there's a turn"
Hmmm Americans guys in leather talking about taking turns..... Lets ask Megs what he thinks. Blue Oyster Club....?
pmsl! Im starting to feel real dirty with all this talk. lol Yeah bad new is ... if your not a founder member (oooh fancy!) it is a couple of quid. does seem a good app so far, although only loads of members will help it survive I expect. a few good features so far... • record your favourite rides and post them for others including poi and bike related info. • warn others of hazards, potholes, missing covers, gravel etc • accident feature which sends a distress call in the event of unusual conditions if not deactivated by an ok rider (impact, abrupt stop, meeting fez etc) • newsfeed on bike events, shows, offers etc • messaging for realrider contacts I think the hazard warning and searchable good rides is my fave. just nice to see someone having a go at a Uk based bike app. ps: no I dont work for them lol
A similar app PH2: Bikers Friend app - PistonHeads did not go down well with bikers. If its anything like this re accidents which is seems it may result in lots of ' have you had a accident and its not your fault' calls and email etc,.. Which does concern me. If the app did not have it them that seems a great idea. Just think being contacted every time u do a stoppie ! Can you see where I'm going with that?
I can see there is a rider assist feature, which is supposedly meant to do exactly as you say (help with legal blah blah) but the good news is you activate it seperately by agreeing to its own t&cs (which I will not be doing).
