I have removed the wheel to have a new tyre fitted and since the caliper is loose and the one pad is down to 2mm, I thought I put new ones in. The guide pin is not turning whil holding the caliper in my hand! Wanted to check before putting force on it! MAybe I should have tried it befor taking the wheel out Was a long time ago when I took it out & cleaned the pads so my question is does the guide undo in a normal way : CCW to loosen?
The worry is over. While waiting, I used penetrating spray, let it soak for a couple of hours and it came undone! Maybe it was over tightened when it had a brake service done 3 years ago. This time I’ll use some copper grease on the thread
