My mate's 07 blade has a broken rear seat catch and he now can't get the pillion seat off. The cable has somehow worked its way off of the lock/catch mechanism - any ideas how he can release the seat without having to damage the bike please? He's coming to Mugello with us in a couple of weeks and needs to get the rear seat off to fit his Kriega luggage!
Possibly, I'm not sure mate as I'm not familiar with that model. If it is possible though any tips on how to go about removing would be appreciated.
Try removing the front seat and see if you can access the the lock for the back seat, or if you can slide something between the seat cowl and fender to open the lock. 9 haven't rr7 anymore so can't go andown try.
He's tried taking the rider seat off and doing that but the cable has come away from the catch and he says it feels like it's seized. Appreciate the help though Greg.

Quick update for you - friend followed instructions from the link and 20 minutes later he had the seat off. Fixed the catch and job is done. Can't say thanks enough, top bloke, thank you.
