hi guys some of you might now after having my 2015 blade less than i month and i put 1.400 miles on already enjoying it alot but there is funny click noise coming from bike when i go over little bumbs or holes on the road when the first service was done asked them to check and they said all fine and it is ok to feel so as this bike compare to my old bike rr04 has much bigger single shocks bla bla bla so took the bike to HM racing in eden bridge for susoension setup Mr Perry there (great guy to to got o for susoension service by the way) realised that probably the tolerance was little bit out at factory Honda when they bored the holes for bearing and they are loose he said nothing to worry about but if it gets worse just take to dealer i kow dealers will probably say it is ok when you lift the weight of the read wheel if you try to pull the wheel a bit you can feel the movement it is very litle but what are your thoughts is this normal o have a free play in swingarm bushes to me this is unbelievable £12.800 bike and has a freeplay makes clicks when you ride it what are your thoughts i been to speeds of 150 mph and no problem with handling there really in my opinion
Yes this is standard, it is to allow for expansion as the exhaust causes a lot of heat. I have had this on three bikes which is normal.
Bearings loose in their bores to allow for heat expansion from an exhaust? No disrespect but I've never heard such nonsense in my life. If indeed the heat from the exhaust has an effect on the fit of the bearing it's going to make it even looser as it's the aluminium of the bearing recess that will expand way more than the bearing thus compounding the problem. I must confess that I find it hard to believe that Honda Quality Control would ever allow defective critical suspension parts to make it on to a bike. There may be a little play in the suspension as it's all a build up of tolerances but the outer diameter of the bearings bearings must be a tight fit in their housings. To the OP - If the suspension bearings are loose in their bores to the extent that you are aware of it, it's a fault that will only get worse and needs to get addressed. I've been machining bearing fits all my adult life and never has it ever been acceptable for a needle or roller bearing to be anything other than a "good" fit. If the outer shell of the bearing moves in it's location it's not acceptable. Try passing an MOT with "clunky" suspension bearings. Also, "tolerance was little bit out" means it's faulty - there is no other interpretation. Get it back to Honda and make sure they sort it.
just been to Honda and answer is dont worry if there were something wrong with it we would have picked it up i should answer him saying how can you pick up a loose bearing but not over filled oil as they serviced my bike they overfilled it discussing i could not get anywhere so they took it in to shop to realise that oil was over filled at this sage i will not worry about it my old rr04 had the same thing to be honest but i could not hear it this one is alot worse as it is under warranty i will let it be and we will all see
Totally agree with old git, if there is any movement in a bearing housing such as this there is only one thing thats going to happen and that's that the movement is going to get greater. Return to dealer and tell them to sort it.
