just checking my pressures before a ride out today Noticed rear tyre Covers about half the circumference. Wasn't there a week ago before last ride. Safe to use?
There's loads of tread on the sides and there's another 3 mm of canvas to use. Man up and ride it. Are you joking even posting it ? It's NFG,
Hugger wouldn't do that it's just wear! It's way past the wear indicator shown in the photo More likely is wheel balance is off hence wearing more on one side
Left bike at home and used sons KTM, lucky just returned to Uni. Cannot believe how squared off the tyre is. Nearly all the miles where done on flowing A and B roads. Is this a common theme with Sportsmarts ?
My Pirelli Diablo Rosso2's did exactly the same. I think its a common trait on the softer "more sporty" road tyre. The middle section is meant to be harder rubber on dual compound tyres but they still go soft and start to tear. I still did a few miles on them - but as has been mentioned above I don't think its legal.
Normal here too for the Rosso 2's. That's just the wire starting to show once its very worn. Best replace it, way past its best.
Wow that's high isn't it?? Seen loads tyres do that on tour (including mine, and one not on tour ).... Your about 100 miles shy of a puncture IMO. Wires will be through in no time. I'd ride that to tyre shop that's local and that about it. At which point he will tell you to hang your head in shame ya tight wad lol
I only do road riding and the wear on my old tech pilot power is pretty even (I do not do much motorway or straight roads). Run 36/40. Possibly you spun the rear tyre out of or during cornering which overheated it momentarily and melted that part. Is the tyre dual compound? the wear indicator is I think at 1mm. If your tyre treat depth is below the legal limit (middle or sides) then you can get a fine for it but in case of an accident claim, can also create with your insurance
