Happy new year to everyone and all the best for 2012. I have decided to treat myself to a carbon front mudguard for my bike and after sampling different quality of carbon over the years was wondering if anyone could recommend a manufacturer that supplies a good quality, well fitting carbon front mudguard for an 08 Blade at a reasonable price. I would love the genuine Honda Racing one but at £220 its a bit rich for my liking so I was thinking GB Moto or Zero Limits, anybody got one from either of those companies or something similar they could recommend, budgeting about £90-£100. Cheers for any help that can be offered.
GB moto for me: Fab quality, you need to swap the fittings from the standard mudguard over, and after comparing the quality to the genuine Honda racing carbon mudguard in hunts, then I would say the quality is on a par.
AKRAPOVIC CARBON FIBER REAR FENDER HONDA CBR1000RR 01-03-08-0002 | eBay Akrapovic carbon is some of the very best I've ever seen, I've got loads of it on the RC8 and the finish is superb. Wasn't sure they did it for the blade but I've just found this for you
I have quite a few Powerbronze carbon goodies on mine, good quality easy to fit and prices on par with whats already been recommended.
Cheers for all the feedback it is invaluable For the money and quality I don't think I can get better than the GB Moto item Si has on his bike so I will be ordering one of those ASAP. Just for info I fitted the Harris Carbon Mudguard from my SP2 the other day to see if I liked the look on my Blade which I did and it mounted okay as the 4 off fasteners are in the exact same place. However for some reason it sat too high above the wheel there must have been nearly an inch of clearance between the tyre and mudguard which just looked plain odd, hence I need to get one designed specifically for the CBR1000RR.
