Hi there,I have a 2004 Honda cbr1000rr blade with only 17k on the clock.it has been sitting in my garage for a year now as I went away to travel and work abroad, now I am back home I want to get her back to normal and fresh again.I am debating at the moment whether to order some new fairing from auctmarts as they are meant to be the bet out there.I'm from Essex and I also want to get my wheels resprayed in black as they are covered in stone chips at the moment, does anyone know anywhere that is very reasonable price wise on getting them done?I started her up the other day as before I put it in storage it recently had a new battery installed and she fired straight up but today I went out to my garage and tried again and the battery is dead/flat is that just a case of recharging it or would I need a new battery?sort for all the questions guys lol its just that now I'm back I want to get back in the swing of things and enjoy my bike again and I'm a bit rusty now on the maintenance side if things with not having my bike for a year!!! I've also noticed my brake pads have a slight coating of rust on them, would it be easier to just get new pads all round?any other tips on what to do to get her looking tasty again would be great.oh and just 1 other question lol it currently has an arrow exhaust on it but the silencer itself is looking a bit worse for wear and in was going to send it back to arrow to a full refurb as apparently its cheaper than a new exhaust but I recently saw an add on eBay advertising an exhaust slip-on made by a company called danmoto,if looks the part but does anyone out there have more if an insight on the exhaust,eg build quality and most importantly what it sounds like as the arrow sounds amazing and I want the same kind of growl to the exhaust.thanks for reading my post and I hope to hear from you guys soon.any help/tips would be really helpful and much appreciated.

I'd be giving it an oil and filter change if it's been sat there for a year. Worth changing brake and clutch fluid while you're at it too.

Done for you Scoobs, I struggled as well.

OP - For fairings most of the companies appear about the same, just some want to charge you a lot more. Have a search on ebay and just a set you like, at the right price, and from a seller with decent rep. They won't be as good as OEM but the are OK. Don't forget you are also likely to get hit by a customs charge of between £35-70 when they are imported.

If you want the same sound from the exhaust you will need to buy an Arrow or get yours refurbed. There's a reason Arrow cost more ;)

Do you mean the brake discs are rusty rather than the pads? If so a bit of brake cleaner will normally get rid of the worst of it, and then a quick ride will sort the rest for you. If it is the pads you can rub them down, or just bite the bullet and buy some new pads, just don't go for the cheap ones.

Do you have an alarm fitted, that's the normal cause of batteries draining.

Sorry guys lol as I've just read through my message and can see exactly what you mean,it was a bit jumbled up.with regards to my battery I did have an alarm fitted but I used to have it connected to an optimiser so it wouldn't be the alarm that has drained the battery.i think it's just where it's stood still for a year but I'll charge it up and see how I get on.thanks for the tips guys and I look forward to more.
