Have still only done 300mls on new 2013 Blade but I've had one strange braking moment when brakes seemed to lose power and I had to miss my turn in to road on left and went straight on- this could be a case of still getting used to the bike etc If I wanted to turn off the ABS completely do I just remove the fuse? thanks

Yes, removing the Fuse or fitting an inline dash mounted switch to the Fuse supply will perform the same trick.

What do you mean by 'losing power'?

Did the lever come mutch further back to the bar than expected?

If so were you just riding in slow moving traffic and using lots of light feathering of the brakes?

Tiz a known issue which can happen sporadically at low speeds in heavy traffic

If fitting a switch or removing the fuse, you may need to open up the span on the lever a little; the feel changes quite a lot.

If you are referring to the feeling of reduced braking kinda like brake fade,- I had this.

It doesn’t happen all the time but it only started to happen around the time I had a leaking fork seal. I think my pads were contaminated.
Check they are not contaminated with anything nasty.

I posted in another thread where I needed to brake hard and it felt like I had massive brake fade, this was caught on video you can clearly see were the oil starts to burn off.

It hasn’t happened since, fingers crossed

thanks for info, I was going pretty fast (no traffic) and pulled the lever in hard and expected bike to stop all be it pretty violently but it didn't, it felt like big brake fade and lever moved close to throttle as if no pressure in system?? Then read info on this forum about ABS problem which got me worried, but hasn't happened since, maybe was just very new pads reacting to first real big stop? Don't know much about electrics but if I remove fuse will it mess with the whole electric system on bike?

The brakes will be operated conventionally not by the abs ecu. You will be able to lock them up and the abs light will not good out after start up.

Word of caution though, you are insured to ride an ABS bike so if the worst happens an it's been disabled you may not be covered.
