Would there be any issues in removing the silver lower heatshield down by the front sets? is this a done thing or is it a no no? im looking to get everything silver on the bike to black and the heat shield is one of those.

    Thanks.

No issues removing the outer one that's behind a plastic cover on the OE exhaust. I'd image many remove it when fitting an aftermarket exhaust anyway like on mine.

Do you mean under the tail?
I'll have a look tomorrow as I don't have any photos and it's too dark now to get a decent one to show you.

Yes you can remove the heat shield under the tail. It looks crap. I've had the akrapovic on mine without the heat shield for years and no problems.

Just had a quick look under the tail and the previous owner has indeed removed the heat shield, but riveted a different type on the exhaust side of the battery cover.
See below, but bear in mind mine is a track bike, so you may need to consider your plastics.

ive just taken them off and found the plastic side cover that you can replace with carbon is now only held on with one screw, do you advise running without one, (or does this burn into leathers) or is there a way of mounting for two screws. thanks.

It's probably held on with one screw as the rear foot peg was removed, which houses one of the other mounting points for the heatshield cover. You can make up a P shaped bracket to hold the cover on properly, or just remove the lot as is the case on my track bike.
