Wondering if anybody has fitted one of these links? The pivot link comes with 2 x funny looking S-shaped squiggly wire things(!) Proper terms!

I've been having chain trouble (doesnt run smooth) since converting to 520 with 15/44 and wonder if I've fitted the pivot link too tight. (I initially thought the chain guide on the swingarm was the issue but advised not) wheel alignment spot on and front sprocket fitted correctly.

Would these wire clip things be used to space the pivot link & protect the O-rings during installation? How would they be removed once pivot link crimped?

I didnt use them on initial install but they must be in the packet for a reason. I've 2 spare links so prepared for a little trial & error!
    Sorry no pic- thanks

theres a bit of debte about the clip style links, various stories of the clips coming off etc.

i personally only ever use soft link connectors, basically the same links on the chain but you need to peen the rivets over the link plate.but you do need a chain rivet tool.

tbh this is what i thought you'd used, and over "peened" the rivets,or puched the plate on too tight as this can give a stiff link and makes the chain lumpy on rotation.

you 100% sure you've got 520 sprockets with the chain?

    Hey Scooby
    Yes I have a Renthal RR4 chain & Renthal sprockets all @ 520
The chain link is soft pivot type for use with chain tool, but comes with 2 x wiggly shaped parts

Hope the 'link' above opens so you can see what I mean - Thanks

They are spacers to stop you crushing the o or x rings. Remove them after fitting link.
