I have searched the forum to no avail...

What's the cheapest way to get a spare key for the Fireblade (2009)?

I bought one on the weekend, but the seller only gave/had the one key.

    Cheers,

TBH, I would never buy a one key bike.

You are looking at about £100 for a new blank chip key, then cutting and labour at dealer to clone your current key and code the new one.

Or get into the Town and see if you can get one cut n cloned. It's amassing what can be done nowadays and a lot of these shoe repair places can NOW clone the most complicated keys. Must be worth a bus ride into town surely?.

If you are feeling brave then you can program it yourself and save 30 mins of labour charges. There are instructions out there on how to do it all.

Yeah, not worth the hassle. Norton Way Honda quoted £25+ VAT... less than I expected so will go with that.

Key is £36.30 with VAT, just need to get it cut by a local keycutter.

Sure as hell beats the £100 p/h I'd pay at Motorrad for the Beamer!
