I have noticed the RR4 \ RR5 Respols have held there values quite well - for a nice example anyhow.

My brother bought a brand new Respol back in 2005 and sold it 4 years later for £5000 with under 10k on the clock - and at the end of 2012 you are still looking to pay £5000 in you want a nice example! why have these held there values so well?

Would the same apply to the RR8 onwards (the later shape) .my brother is potentially about to buy a RR9 Repsol for £5500 with 15k on the clock. Personally i like the older shape - but the newer hrc's has been turning me on lately.. lol

You really think the prices will fall any less - i think its allot of a bike there for the amount...

why would you choose a RR5, or RR7 over the newer blades - or is newer just better..?

Some rr-8's are going very very cheap. even slowriders 09 hrc on ebay for 6k is not selling. thats a serious bike for not much money

I have recently bought a mint condition 954 with just 5k on the clock and FSH and all the old Mot's ! I paid £4,000 for it and i think (given the current market) its a good price, i suspect that even in a few years time if i keep it in the same condition and the miles stay reasonable that i would not lose much from what i paid. I suspect that the semi iconic nature of some of the older bikes has helped keep values high, whereas with the newer bikes there are more of them around and i still think the oil issue which affects the RR8 models and beyond is at the the back of peoples minds.

When I bought my RR5 I was in a situation where I could of bought a brand new one however I really liked the shape of the rr5 and new it was what I wanted despite really good reviews on the 10.
The shape just ment more to me than anything else, the newer models may ride better and be faster but the 5 is plenty for me.
I preffer the 6/7 to the 5 in any other colour but the repsol IMO looks better in the 5 as its bigger fairings give more orange :D and I just think the repsol looks more natrauly placed on the 5 maybe a little squashed in there on the newer ones

I do love the Repsol scheme, i don't like it on the CB1000R though.... odd that, i just think those naked bikes look better in standard colours not the race bike colours... because... they are not race bikes.

When my 954 comes up for change.... not yet though as i think its as fast as i will ever need.... then i will get a Repsol.
