I think if the sp was in my budget and the missus/kids didn't occasionally ride pillion I'd have had one. I think once you've weighed up the akrapovic pipe, suspension and brakes and bodywork, not to mention the blueprinted engine internals it's not bad value.
Buy the SP if you can it costs a lot more to do it yourself as I know residuals on the blade arnt brilliant but the SP will hold up better IMO
Oh nice have you got it yet? Met one coming over the lecht tonight which had lights on and looked strange as 1time seen one with the lights on!
Bob, get it on Saturday! The main reason I bought the R1 is I think ABS is a neccessity on a road bike, and although I had no issues with my ABS blade (other than maintenance) was unwilling to buy another, so would have been forced to buy non ABS. Don't believe the hype though, the R1 is nowhere near as rider friendly as the blade. The R1 riding position was like my SP2's, not too extreme, but no blade. My reasons for changing were I'm not intending to ride as much and wanted a garage toy, if I intended to do any mileage I would have bought the SP blade.
