Next week, I am going to px my 08 R1 for Repsol Blade (09) I have seen a couple, but 1 has a Silver Frame and 1 has a Black Frame, but both listed as rr9, was there a frame colour option ?
From what I've heard is that only genuine factory Repsols have silver frames , and any with black frames started out life as another colour and have had repsol bodywork added at a later date ,the newer ones i.e 2010 onwards have black subframes with a silver main frame, my rr9 has a silver frame and silver subframe ,swing arm. Jase.
you sure mate? if it was a sprayed up HRC, you'd get the look you're after but would be faster than all the other repsols
Mine is a 2011 and has a silver frame, but 2010's had a black frame........ It all depends on the year of manufacture. Genuine repsol's are also shown on their logbook (UK) as being "Orange".
Not in my case...my 07 is a genuine Repsol but shows Blue on the Logbook.....had it from new and all other paperwork states Repsol.....even my MOT man always queries this fact.
You are correct, odd years only, but a lot were purchased (Registered) late. Colours Listed On Log Books............. Arghhh, they don't make it easy. Mine's a genuine 2011 Repsol and like other 2011 Repsol's is shown on the log book as Orange. They didn't make it easy.
All the genuine later repsols all came with a silver frame!! read the full description of this 1 started off as a black bike!! 2008 HONDA CBR 1000 RR-8 Repsol Fireblade £6500 ono REDUCED AGAIN | eBay
the 05 repsols had black frames, 07,09,11 have silver frames. if theres any variation there not a genuine repsol model. lots out there with repalcement bodywork but always the doubting question WHY??
Confusion over..... Spoke to the dealer today selling the 09 Repsol with (black frame) turns out it was supplied by them new, and then they got it painted by Dream Machine in Repsol colours. Thanks everyone for your info
Why... Because the standard repsol colours are to common and really outdated... One good reason why ;-) Although to be fair, the one doubt in my mind when buying my blade was the resale issues, as I to used to think exactly the same about custom and resprayed bikes.
I've researched on this topic and here's a quick vid on how to tell the Repsols apart How To: Tell the difference between original CBR 1000rr REPSOL 06/07 and Replica - YouTube ps: i know my english isn't that good, but I am from Bulgaria and I'm working on it
My '07 Repsol say's Multi-coloured on the log book, on the Honda certificate of newness it states Repsol and has a silver frame, it's a genuine one for sure
