Just what are the colour/bodywork differences between the two bikes, also what would i look for on the V5 to ensure i am seeing a genuine Repsol bike, i have seen a bike that looked Honda stock colours but the owner told me it was originally a different colour scheme, just how to be sure ???

have to agree with Dan on this, the two models are easy to see the difference

infact if you look in the pics and video section, check the "post your 04 to 07 blades" the frist few sets of pics show the changes in the fairings between 05 and 06/07

There are over 200 differences between the 04-05 and the 06-07 blade.
Some visual like the fairing, discs from 310mm to 320mm, rear brake caliper, clocks.
Non visual higher lift cams, higher compression pistons, return to double valve springs, lower gearing to name a few.lol

06/07 have more of the engine peeking out the fairings than the 04/05 bikes.

06/07 bikes usually have silver frames, 04/05 usually have black frames.

The nose cone on the 06/07 bikes have a raised bit that follows the line of the screen to a point.

The rear looks exactly the same apart from the heat shield on he standard exhaust.

Log book for a repsol just states colour as orange, to check if a bike is genuine ask your local Honda dealer they can tell you if it iwas a repsol and what if any service history it has with Honda and recalls etc. Other than that it is the HPI check

a genuine 07 repsol will have a silver/bare alloy frame. if its black frame and a repsol its not genuine. don,t think its the same with 05,s though! hth

Both my 04 and my 05 had black frames. Allbeit not repsol. The repsol schemes are definatly black frame for 04/05, silver frame 06/07.

That is a very nice blue/black RR5. Cheers for all the info guys, now you mentioned about the silver frame on the 07 bikes, it is obvious, the bike i looked at had a black frame but the paint job on it was really good. I just want to make sure i get a genuine Honda factory Repsol paint job. I will just check the V5 and look for orange.

As others have said the rr7 repsol is silver frame, my v5 states colour blue, they also have gold forks and were only made in 07 as they were a LE run unlike the rr8+ they say only 300 repsol rr7's are in the uk...but no one from Honda could ever check, if there were 300 in the uk they are all in Hampshire! ;) not far from me..lol. Think Honda produced them for the win by Hayden in mgp.

There is a 57-plate Repsol in Farmham Honda at the moment.

Marked up just over £6k with 12k miles on the clock.
